Places You Shouldn’t Travel

It may seem that today we can travel wherever we want. However, if you really think about it, you will see that this is not the case. Sure, we have a variety of destinations to choose from, but not all travel is possible. Take me, for example. Because that\’s where I want to go. You may think it\’s crazy, you may think it\’s odd, but if I could, I\’d like to look back at least one more time to the Czechoslovakia of my youth. In other words, to the past.

Why do I want to choose this? Several reasons.

For example, I would like to go back at least for a while to a time when canned foods were supposed to contain meat and other ingredients. Today, those who consume canned foods have no idea what Turkey & Rice was. It was a piece of turkey that looked and tasted like meat.

Or, to look back on those days to recall the excitement of the trip. When it was so exciting to board a train to East Germany in a sleeping bag and spend the night in the open air. I wouldn\’t make the same decision today, but at the time it was truly an amazing experience.

Or I would like to relive those days when I could enjoy the little things. For example, that the bus came on time, or that they didn\’t sell several tickets for the same seat on the train…

or …… I simply want to go back to those days, even if only to remember my younger days.

But I never look back to that era. Time travel is impossible, despite all the advantages of the present day. I was unlucky.

I may be rather lucky. Because while we can probably go to the past today without any problems, who knows what will happen next? First, as a foreign exchange alien I would be forced to slowly exchange convertible currency for worthless paper at the border. Then, upon returning to today\’s capitalist society, I would need a visa, a foreign exchange pledge, a labor board permit, a customs declaration, and a reliable socialist profile. Still, who knows if they would be able to cross the border and return to the modern world. Was it taken away for political reasons?
